Terms & conditions
Client Agreement & Terms of Service
By booking and using my services, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
Services Provided
I offer private 1:1 dog training and behaviour coaching sessions. These sessions are designed to support you and your dog in developing skills, improving behaviour, and strengthening your relationship.
Training is tailored to each individual dog and handler. Results vary depending on many factors including consistency, environment, learning history, and the dog’s emotional and physical wellbeing.
Payment
All sessions must be paid for in full in advance of the session via my secure online booking system. Sessions will not be confirmed and will not go ahead without payment.
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy - This policy exists to respect my time and ensure fair availability for all my clients.
Please inform me if your dog has been unwell, injured, or undergone recent veterinary procedures. Sessions may need to be adapted or postponed in your dog’s best interest.
A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a session. You can reschedule via the link in your confirmation email up to 48 hours before the session, or receive a session credit to be used up within 4 weeks time.
If notice is given within 48 hours without a valid reason, the full session fee will be charged and no credit will be issued. Exceptions are made on a case by case basis for genuine emergencies, illness, or unforeseen circumstances.
If you need to reschedule, please notify me as soon as possible so that I can make the slot available for somebody else.
Refund Policy
Due to the nature of dog training and behaviour work, refunds are not offered. As above, credits are possible.
There is no guarantee of a “perfect dog.” Dogs are individuals, not machines, and progress depends on many variables. Training plans are adapted to your dog’s needs, learning style, and pace.
If you are unhappy with any aspect of the training, I encourage open communication. I will work with you to address concerns, adjust the plan where appropriate, or refer you to another professional if the issue falls outside my scope of practice.
In the unlikely event of a dog passing or being rehomed, refunds will be discussed on a case by case basis, taking into account the support already provided. If a package has not yet started, refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Packages & Validity
Any sessions purchased as part of a monthly package must be booked and used within 5 weeks of the onboarding call, unless otherwise agreed in writing. This is to ensure steady progress and results and to keep scheduling fair to everyone.
Unused sessions outside this timeframe are forfeited.
Client Responsibilities. By engaging in training, you agree to:
Follow management and training recommendations to the best of your ability
Ensure your dog is healthy and fit to participate in training - I insist that your dog has up to date general vet check ups
Inform me of any changes in your dog’s health, behaviour, or environment
Commit your time outside our sessions to practice things learned - Training progress relies heavily on consistency between sessions.
Communicate with me clearly on any challenges faced and on your progress
Liability & Risk
I take all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of you, your dog, and anyone involved in training sessions. However, dog training involves inherent risks.
By participating, you acknowledge and accept responsibility for your dog and any incidents that may occur outside of my control (e.g. off-lead dogs approaching during outdoor sessions).
I am fully insured through Cliverton’s Dog Trainer and Behaviourist Business Insurance.
Children must be supervised at all times during training sessions. I am not responsible for injuries caused by a dog interacting with unsupervised children or third parties.
Termination or Pause of Services - I reserve the right to temporarily pause or terminate services if:
Your dog’s needs fall outside my scope of practice, e.g. medical issues
Veterinary, medical, or specialist intervention is required
Continuing training is not in the best interest of the dog or handler
Where possible, I will support you with appropriate referrals or next steps.
Privacy & Media
Your personal information will never be shared with third parties without consent.
Media: I may occasionally take photos or videos during training sessions for you to refer back to, or for educational or marketing purposes. If you do NOT wish for you or your dog to appear in any educational or marketing material, please inform me in writing before sessions begin.
This includes social media - please notify me in writing if you do not consent to images or videos appearing online.
Changes to These Terms
I reserve the right to update these terms and conditions at any time. The most current version will always be available on the drive and applies immediately.
By booking a session, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.
