I am a Level 5 certified, positive reinforcement and force-free dog trainer & behaviour specialist.

I'm passionate about helping dogs reach their full potential, whatever their breed or background - and helping guardians find their peace of mind. Having struggled with my own dog's behavioural challenges, I know how isolating it can feel to be at your wits' end with your pup, especially if it's your first dog. That's what inspires me to help others.

I specialise in walk-related issues - lead pulling, poor engagement, recall, and barking at other dogs or people - but I also work on general life skills, and love supporting new puppy parents, sensitive dogs, and rescue dogs - I've even volunteered with a street dog rescue in Romania. Whether we work together online, in-person, or through my membership, I'll help you build a plan that fits your life and changes things for the better.

I’m not interested in quick fixes with harmful tools and methods.

Please read about my training methods below - whatever you've tried in the past, my sessions are always judgment-free, but come with an open mind to learn new ways.

Hi, I’m Eddy.

My Training Methods

I believe that dog training is a journey of growth for you and your dog and with that, we have an amazing opportunity to build a lifelong bond whether we’re working on basic manners or working on reactivity such as barking at other dogs, barking at people, pulling and lunging towards others. I’m passionate about the science behind dog cognition and behaviour and with that, I always aim to use the most ethical and up to date training methods available. A lot of behaviour is rooted in wellbeing so I love to work with my clients to help them raise happy and motivated dogs. I love watching dogs thrive and focus greatly on setting them up for success and taking the right approach for your dog to gain confidence and for you to gain voluntary engagement from your dog (i.e. ignore distractions and focus on YOU!). This is a part often missed in training dogs with issues such as reactivity and it’s integral for successful behaviour modification.

My sessions will always be judgment-free as I work with you to not only train your dog but also teach you how to continue your dogs training and grow the skillset you need to be your dog’s trainer for life!

What is force-free training?

Force-free / positive reinforcement / R+ dog training method is a modern and science based dog training style out there. It avoids the use of fear, intimidation, and physical punishment with dogs. It has been proven that punishing bad behaviours is not a long-term solution and actually causes the dog stress, anxiety and fear. Positive reinforcement training takes into account the dog’s strengths, well-being and focuses on reinforcing & rewarding the desired behaviours. With this approach, we work at the dog’s pace without the need for physical force or intimidation- no matter what the issue or training goal is - and help the dog learn to make the right decisions in any situation by themselves.

For far too long unnecessary punitive dog training methods have been favoured and unfortunately still happen nowadays on a very large scale. You can rest assured that your dog’s well-being is my utmost priority.

I will never use uncalled for tools, such as prong collars, shock collars, e-collars, slip leads, choke collars, with your dog, yank your dog on the lead, spray them with water, or shake loud things in their face to stop them from doing a behaviour.

MYTH-BUSTING

"I need to be the alpha for my dog to listen to me."→ This is very outdated pack theory - dogs are not pack animals, but more social species and thrive on connection and clear communication, not “climbing to the top of the pack hierarchy”. Dominance is a very misunderstood concept by many dog owners and old-fashioned trainers. You don’t need to “show your dog who’s boss” or be “a pack leader” for them to listen to you.

"A quick correction will stop the behaviour for good." → “Corrections” is basically a fancy word word for punishment. They include things such as applying quick, sharp pressure on a tight lead/collar, rattling a can, spraying water at the dog, pinning a dog down. These are just examples - they might stop a behaviour in the moment, but punishment doesn't address the root cause - which is often some form of fear or anxiety - so the behaviour often resurfaces, and sometimes get worse.

I only train using reward-based, force-free methods - whichever path you choose, you and your dog are in safe hands.
